Dr. Salman Tahir Shafi graduated from King Edward Medical University in 2001.

He did his internal medicine training at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit MI and nephrology training at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in USA.

He has worked as an assistant professor of nephrology at Northeastern Ohio Medical University in Ohio USA for nearly 4 years before returning to Pakistan in 2013.

He is currently serving as a Professor of Nephrology at Akhtar Saeed Medical and Dental College and as a consultant nephrologist at Farooq Hospital Westwood Branch Lahore.

He is an American Board Certified in internal medicine and nephrology. He is also a fellow of American College of Physicians, the fellow of the American Society of Nephrology and a certified hypertension specialist by American Society of Hypertension.

He has extensively published in local and international journals. His areas of interest including hypertension, chronic kidney disease, and glomerular diseases.

He is the son of Prof. Tahir Shafi (late) who was the one of pioneer Nephrologists in Pakistan and with whom he worked for nearly a decade.
